Description
1 rare Vietnam fighting knife available. This ultra cool knife was carried in Vietnam by U.S. Marine, Robert (B0b) Barnas. This knife would make an important addition to any collection.
This knife is ID’d above the sheath throat, and reads ‘R.J. BARNAS 3/4’. On the lower part of the sheath he wrote ‘Vietnam 67-68’. He also carved in the Marine Corps insignia with what looks to be a number ‘8’.
The handle is cast with the top portion of the handle a skull and crossbones. Red eyes are inset in the skull pommel. The blade measures 6″.
A quick internet search shows:
• Service History: He served as an E-6 in the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969, deploying to Vietnam during the height of the conflict (specifically around 1967–1968).
• Veterans Community: He later settled in Florida and became an active member of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 1092 in Alachua County.
