1 antique 1820’s A.D. U.S. Naval Officer’s sword available. This early 19th century would make a fine addition to any antique edged weapons collection
This fine S&K U.S. Naval Officer’s sword has fine mother-of-pearl grips. The blade has gold filigree, and is decorated with flags, banners, and a marching drum. The large turned-down counterguard is decorated with Sitting Liberty, a ship, an anchor, and an eagle holding arrows and olive leaves. The brass scabbard has two rings, and a frog stud. The scabbard is decorated with flower designs.
This sword measures 33 7/8″ long.
CONDITION:
This antique 1820’s A.D. U.S. Navy Officer’s sword is in excellent condition. The mother-of-pearl grips are perfect–which is amazing for a sword this old. The sword blade has very little oxidation. One guard quillion is broken off (old break). There is a an old period repair to the scabbard about 6″ from the finial.
