Old Japanese Samurai Sword -Antique Collection -Shinto Fujiwara Kiyonobu -thDetails
1 Japanese WWII Army Officer's katana available. The blade was carried by Samurai in the 1600's A.D. The blade was remounted in Army mounts for carry in World War 2. This antique Japanese katana would make an important acquisition for any collection.
The unsigned blade measures 21 1/4" (54 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.
This sword has premium koshirae/mounts. The mounts would have been expensive the Officer who purchased them. There are Silver Samurai mon over the menuki, and Silver family name on the kashira fitting. Family mon located over the army menuki are difficult to find.
The saya is the early type with a high grade spatter lacquer textured finish. This sword has a high grade clasped hands sarute.
The blade has no nicks, just occasional scratches and some mild staining. The hamon and boshi are perfectly healthy.
The mounts on this sword are in excellent condition (only a minor dent in the saya--after all, this sword has been through a War). The saya lock functions perfectly.
