This V-44 was made by Western Cutlery--the rarest of all V-44's. The blade is stamped 'WESTERN'. This knife measures 14 9/16" overall. The blade itself measures 9 5/16". This knife has a steel guard, and black composite handle.
The Western sheath is nicely marked on its front with the name of the soldier who carried it 'KAYO'.
This vintage WW2 Western V-44 is in excellent condition. Everything is nice and tight on this knife with no looseness or wiggle. The blade has some occasional minor, superficial-type pitting. The blade edge has no nicks. The handle grip is in perfect condition. The Western double-stitched scabbard is in excellent condition with only some occasional minor crazing in the leather.
