1 * ID'd * U.S. World War 2 Western L77 Stiletto fighting knife. This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection.
The serviceman etched his name and branch of service on the blade! 'K.S. Peffer. U.S.N.'. He also marked his initials on the sheath 'K.S.P.'.
The knife's blade tang is stamped 'WESTERN BOULDER, COLO. PAT.NO.1,967,479'. This knife measures 11 1/4" overall. The blade itself measures 6 15/16" to the guard. The pommel on this knife is made of orange aluminum. This is one of the nicer L77's since it has the extra colored spacers below the guard and above the pommel.
Note the double-stitching Western sheath with the patterned snap on the keeper strap.
This knife is in excellent condition. The sheath is in excellent condition as well with a short cut to the left of the rightside throat rivet that is commonly seen.
