This style of Stelzig knuckle knife can be seen in Mike Silvey's book U.S. Military Knives - World War 2. This Stelzig knife measures 12 3/4" overall. The blade itself measures 8 1/16". Note the weighted skull crusher pommel on this Stelzig's WWI Mark 1 trench knife style handle.
The scabbard is stamped on its belt loop 'STELZIG SADDLERY CO. HOUSTON, TEXAS'. The sheath is also ID'd on the back--the vet's serial #: 'P5312' is stenciled in black.
This very difficult to find WW2 Stelzig knuckle knife is in excellent condition. The sheath is in quite perfect condition. A portion of this rare knife's guard was broken off in battle.
Locating, and adding a rare Stelzig knuckle knife to one's collection would be a feather in the cap of any U.S. or world militaria collector.
