1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer's late War shin-gunto sword available.  A sword in this condition would make an important addition to any collection.

The tang is signed and dated.  This sword is signed Kazunori.  The swordsmith, Kazunori, is featured on page 80 of John Slough's book.  

All military fittings are of good quality.  The blade measures 26 1/4" from blade tip to notch in the blade spine (as measured properly with the tape pulled tight between the blade tip and the top of the habaki).  The hamon appears to be polished on. 

This vintage Japanese WW2 late War/1944 mount samurai army officer's katana is in excellent condition.  There are no nicks in the blade edge.  There is only a very occasional carbon finish stain on the blade.  The blade is perfectly straight.  The tsuka wrap does go right up to the fuchi (the photos show a gap--I didn't have the mekugi/pin in the handle so it wasn't tight to the fuchi).  The saya locking mechanism works.  There are two minor dents in the saya/scabbard.


This late War Japanese WW2 Army Officer's sword would make a fine addition to any collection.
