1 exceedingly rare World War 2 Robeson U.S.M.C. Mark 2 fighting knife. This early War Robeson Mark 2 combat knife would make a rare addition to any collection.
This Mark 2 variation has red and black spacers next to the guard and pommel. The blade is blued. Many collectors consider the Robeson U.S.M.C. Mark 2 to be the most attractive Mark 2 of World War II.
The blade on this desirable Mark 2 measures 7". The knife is marked 'ROBESON SHUREDGE' on the front tang. The reverse tang is stamped 'U.S.M.C.'.
The sheath is decorated with pin-up art. This Marine's sweetheart was 'Muriel Miller'. Her name and the date '1943' are marked into the back of the sheath. And her pin-up image is drawn into the front of the sheath. The back of the scabbard is also marked 'PARRY ISLE'. Parry Isle is mark of Eniwetok Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
This Robeson U.S.M.C. Mark 2 is in rare condition. The handle is perfect. The guard and pommel are absolutely tight with no looseness or wiggle. The blade was expertly sharpened by the Marine. The bluing is 95% with no rust or oxidation of any kind. The keeper strap on the sheath is pulled through on one side.
