1 ancient Japanese Samurai katana available.  This antique Samurai sword has 2 sets of papers.  This Samurai katana would make an exceptional addition to any antique edged weapons collection.

This fine sword was attributed to Hamabe Toshinori.  There are shinsa papers for the sword blade itself, as well as for the koshirae. 

The fuchi and kashira are matching.  The tsuba is a fine example--the design is an arrangement of Japanese fans, whose arrangement also displays an 8-pointed star.  The saya's lacquer finish is embedded with tiny abalone fragments.  The tsuka wrap is a rich, deep red color.  The same is emperor-type--with large nodule same.  The fine habaki is Silver-foiled.  The seppa look to be solid Silver. 

The slender and elegant katana blade measures 25 9/16" (64.9 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.

This katana has a dynamic, wavy hamon.

This antique Japanese Samurai katana is in original Japanese polish.  There are no nicks of any mentionable size in the blade--barely a nail-catcher is visible.  The blade edge is nearly perfect.  There is some occasional carbon staining on the blade surface.  The blade is perfectly straight.  There are no fatal flaws in this sword.  The hamon and boshi are perfectly healthy.  Red rust on one side of the nakago was removed by a polisher for the benefit of shinsa.  The other side of the nakago was left to keep the collector's costs down.  All fittings are perfect. 

There is not a single ware in this sword.  Exceptional.
