The handle is made with materials available to U.S. soldiers in the Pacific theater--aluminum, black micarta and plexiglass from downed to damaged aircraft. The guard is made of brass (often from spent shell casings).
The blade on this desirable theater Kabar USMC Mark 2 measures 7". The knife is marked 'KA-BAR OLEAN, N.Y.' on the front tang. The reverse tang is stamped 'USMC'.
