The New Guinea Brush Knife was designed at the request of some U.S. servicemen fighting in the South Pacific Island jungles. The New Guinea Brush Knife is a LARGE fighting knife. It measures 12 1/4" overall with a 7" blade.
The ricasso is stamped '4 F172'. The blade is stamped 'John Ek KNIFE HAMDEN CONN.' This knife comes with its original Ek sheath.
A card with the vet's name, address, and service record is with this knife! He served with the 9th Infantry Division. And later went on to serve in Korea with the 3rd Infantry Divisiion.
