1 rare antique World War II Japanese Samurai IJA Army Officer's Type 94 shin-gunto sword available.  An early Type 94 double-hanger shin-gunto mount sword is so very rare to find.  Somewhere around just 1 of 1,000 Japanese Army swords are Type 94's.  This sword would make an important addition to any collection. 

The blade measures 25" (63.5 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This sword has a dramatic hamon, and absolutely no flaws or openings of any kind.  The mumei/unsigned blade is a traditionally-made gendai blade.  

The second hanger is removable.  In fact, the second hanger was usually removed while carrying the sword in the field.  This was the case with this sword as the first permanent hanger has wear, and the removeable ashi (hanger) has very little wear.  The tsuba is the large over-sized, early tsuba--also a characteristic of 1935-1936 era Type 94 swords.  All fittings have the high quality early reddish color fittings with gold gilt present.  The kabutogane is also characteristic of Type 94 swords--these kabutogane are often longer/elongated, and are actually pinned in place with pins.  In addition, the lock release is a premium raised Type 94 cherry blossom-shaped button.  The tassel is a blue-brown Company Grade Officer's tassel.  

The blade is in original Japanese polish.  There are no nicks in the cutting edge.  No expensive polish is needed on this sword since it is generally in such a beautiful state of polish.  The mounts are in nearly perfect condition.  The tassel was repaired in the field with stitching.  The saya locking mechanism works perfectly.
