1 WW2 Japanese Army Officer's sword made by the Rikugun Jumei Tosho and Special Honor Noted Seat/Sword Forging Teacher swordsmith Akihisa available.  This Star Stamp gendai sword would make an important addition to any collection.  

This traditionally-made gendai katana has an expert water-tempered hamon.  This Japanese WW II Army Officer's katana is in 1944 shin-gunto mounts (aka Type 3 mounts).  

The nakago is signed 'Akihisa'.  The nakago is dated on the reverse '1943'.  

The blade measures 26" (66 cm) (measured properly from the blade tip to the notch in the blade spine).  

The Field Grade (Army Colonel rank) orange and brown tassel is still attached.  (Colonel tassels sell for $550 to $650 alone).  

The hamon and boshi are perfectly healthy.  The blade edge was sharpened at some point so there are scratches.  There are no nicks in the cutting edge.  The Army mounts are in nice condition.  One of the lock release buttons is missing.  The other lock release functions perfectly.  The saya drag fitting is missing.
