1 antique WW2 Japanese Samurai tanto sword available.  This antique Japanese tanto would make a nice acquisition for a collection.

Tanto swords like this were carried in regular Japanese Army soldiers’ packs to bring with them the spirit of the Samurai.  Only Japanese Officers and NCO’s were allowed to carry the much larger katanas.  These tanto were also carried in case seppuku was needed.

This tanto is engraved with sanscrit bonji.  This tanto was fashioned after Sanyo Munechika’s famous kogarasu-maru double-edged sword.

The blade measures 7 3/16” (18.2 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This tanto measures 12 1/2” overall (31.5 cm) when in its saya/scabbard. This tanto has the desirable and hard-to-find kogarasumaru blade shape

This antique Japanese tanto is in excellent condition.  The blade is in original Japanese polish, and is in exceptional condition.
