1 exceptionally rare World War II Japanese Police Katana sword available. Mention of these rare swords can be found in Jim Dawon's book, Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945, Cyclopedia Edition. This WW2 Japanese sword would make a fine addition to any collection
The civil police badge is present on the fuchi. This sword is signed. The blade measures 25 3/8" from tip to top of the habaki (habaki edge that touches the blade). As mentioned in Dawson's book, these swords always had basic wood sayas that were painted black.
This vintage World War II Japanese NCO sword is in good condition. The blade has occasional carbon finish staining. The blade is perfectly straight. There are no nicks in the blade edge. The saya drag fitting is missing.
