The sheath throat is stamped 'U.S.M6 BARWOOD 1943'.                 

This M6 sheath is in excellent condition.  In fact, it could be carried into battle today.  Just the tiny portion of leather on the outer edge of the snap (in the photos--the 1/4" piece to the right of the snap) is torn.  

This U.S. Barwood M6 scabbard would complete a blade-dated or blade-marked M3 that currently has no scabbard.
