Large, heavy iron tsuba for a katana, two hitsu(accessory holes), with a hammered organic surface treatment and carved-out square area on front and reverse, with faint traces of gold drawing, mostly lost.
Dates to mid to late Edo period, 1700-1800's, with a design that was frequently seen in Umetada works, but Shoami in flavor.

This tsuba is in very fine condition.
