1 Japanese WWII Army Officer's sword available. The blade was originally carried by Samurai in approximately the 1500's A.D. The blade was remounted in Army mounts for carry in World War 2. This antique Japanese sword would make an important acquisition for any collection.
The blade has horimono carving. One side of the blade has two bohi grooves, and one bonji horimono. The other side of the blade has bonji, and a stylized dragon with flames.
The signed blade measures 21 11/16" (56 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.
The saya has a leather combat cover. The leather snap is still intact and functional--most on World War 2 swords have broken after 77+ years since the War.
The Koto blade is from the 1500's A.D. The hamon is wavy and complex--very attractive.
The blade has no edge nicks, and is in nice polish. There is one small blister in the blade. The mounts are in excellent condition. As mentioned earlier, even the leather keeper strap is still intact and functional.
