This sword has extraordinary artistry making it an exceptional Japanese antique. Note the fine matching shakudo and gold fuchi/kashira. The shakudo menuki are best described as extraordinary.
The tang/nakago on this Naginata naoshi blade is unsigned, and has 2 holes. The tsuba is shakudo with a gold outer rim.
The blade measures 14 7/16" (36.7 cm) from blade tip to the habaki. The habaki is 24kt Gold foil. The outer 2 seppa are covered in 24kt Gold foil as well.
The antique silk handle wrap is a high-grade wrap, and would be expensive to have done today.
The sword is in almost perfect polish. The hamon and boshi are perfectly healthy. There are no nicks in the blade edge.
The koshirae are quite nearly perfect.
Both sword--and fittings--should be taken to Shinsa.
